Xin Xiu Singing Competition..

Ok, the sudden lack of posts is due to the sudden lack of inspiration to blog. However, there is great news, and great videos to watch, as Melissa has done it again, winning yet another singing competition. This time, I can say its the biggest she has ever won as it is a very competitive and difficult competition to win, as there are so so so so many contestants that so many knockout stages had to be held.
.
.
Anyway, just a short background on the competition, from semi-finals, there will be 20 decided to go into the finals. In the final itself, you are required to sing half a song and if u manage to enter the top 5 with that performance then u will automatically go into singing another full song. If u fail to enter the top 5, another 5 out of the remaining 15 will have to sing another half-song(that previously have been sung by other contestants) to prove that you are worthy enough to enter the full-song level. Out of this 5, 2 will be chosen to enter the full-song stage. Once the full-song stage is over, the top 3 will be selected to sing ONE cantonese song completely accapella with no music accompaniment. The winner would represent Melbourne to take part in some competition in Hong Kong which gathers the winners from all over the world(dunno wat extent is this 'world' though) hosted by China's own TVB8.
.
.
Mel sang 'Zhen Shi' by Ah Mei as her half-song, followed by 'Zhi Ji' (chinese version of Christina Aguillera's 'Reflection") as her full song. In entering the top 3 both rounds, she completed the final cantonese song with flawless vocals (fuuh..praise much eh...) to win it all....
.
.
Congrats Mel..hehe...famous adi dun 4get me ar...and I still want those autographs..In the future I can sell when you are rich and famous... :P

*************************************************************************************

Mel's half-song 'Zhen Shi' by Zhang Hui Mei, despite hearing so many times...its still good..hehe..

Her full song 'Zhi Ji'

Her cantonese accapella
.
.
Not to say there was no competition though..check out this dude singing Bei Pan

.
.
And this girl singing some other cantonese song which I've heard so often...

.
.
.

This girl tried another difficult song. Ah Mei's Yong Gan. I thought she was quite ok, just that the song was a little out of her range. She struggled to reach the extremely high notes and it showed a slight weakness in her vocals...But if I could sing like this, I'm perfectly satisified...lol..
.
.
and finally the results..
.
.
hear the votes and cheers for Mel..

.
.
so many videos...lol...congrats again Mel...u owe me bubble for this long post....zzz :P

Arrogant Idiot

U noe how many ppl tend to tell u all the differences between the aussies and the asians and how the cultural difference is shown clearly. Well for instance theres the racism. There's alot of comments saying that there are many aussies we run into that are racist. Like how some tram drivers will stop for another aussie bloke but when they see an asian dude running towards the tram they'll go like..hahaha, no way I'm letting this asian get onto the tram and they'll just close the door and rush off -___-". Then there's the friendly-ness of ppl. Asians tend to just hang around asians and not mingle around with the aussies, I mean lets face it, they white we yellow equals no same. But the aussies don't mind juz mixing around. I noe so many aussie dudes juz coming up to u and go like "hey man, how's it going?"
.
.
Then theres the openness culture. Aussies tend to show pda more often like hugging when they see a fren, giving a peck on the cheek. While the asians will like shake hands and hug only if ur like super close. Heck the aussies can even find some random stranger in the bar and take her home to errr....lets not get there (yea, juz look up stats on avg age of teens losing their virginity between westerns and asians). I dont even bother looking it up and I adi noe the difference.
.
.
But the one thing that I find amusing in Australia is the manners of the public servants. Sure some of them are racist but then if u are able to find a friendly aussie, he'll juz bring himself to ur lvl and talk to u. Don get wat I mean? Ok, lets say a tram cleaner gets onto the tram, he wont think himself of a lower lvl of society and juz talk to u like a normal fren. In Asia there's this hierachy where oh cleaners are lower lvls so dun talk to them and they wont talk to u. If its a tram inspector, after asking for ur tickets he wont abuse his power and can even crack a joke with the commuters. I dont have to elaborate on the police in Asia abusing their power bcos they think they have this "I am the law status!!"
.
.
Just earlier I reach back by train and I saw the digital board stating the nxt bus is at 7.23. Well considering the time was 6.53, it couldnt be right cos the bus intervals are every 15 mins. So I looked at the normal board and the departure time stated was 7.08. So I wanted to ask the bus driver. I knocked on the bus door and this old asian man was inside. He knew I was waiting but he took his own sweet time in drinking his water then opening the door. This was wat happenned:
Me: Excuse me, but does this bus leave at 7.08 and 7.23?
Bus Driver (BD): *stares at me with tulan face*...huh? why u telling me all these times for?
Me: *shocked at his rudeness* Cos the digital board says 7.23 and this board says 7.08
BD: I dunno.........
Me: ?
BD: All I noe is I'm leaving in 12 mins
Me: kthxbai..
.
.
I'm so shocked at the attitude he gave me, so rude. I bet if it was some aussie driver he'll give a smile and tell me the exact time. I mean yea so he's older than me, so I respected him in asking him politely, but his reply was as if I was some small kid who didnt know better...but after all these, an aussie would take down the bus number and that guys name and send in a formal complain to Connex. I, as an asian, walk away and complain about it on my blog cos I'm juz too darn lazy to do anything about it...lol...

MASCA National Games and Conference 08

I juz came back from after 4 days in Brisbane. With shoulders, thighs, calfs and hands aching, I practically slept like a pig this morning. Anyway, I have tons of pictures even though I dont have a camera but I'd juz lich of everyone who did bring a camera...hehe..Anyway, I went there for a badminton competition as I was the mens singles representative of Victoria. It was quite fun though because I went there with 5 other frens of which 3 I juz met...
.
.
.
Day 1 : I had to stay overnight in Tai Jia's house bcos the bus to Avalon airport was at 5.55am and I din want to wake up extremely early juz to travel to Southern Cross from Caulfield. So the conference was from July 1st - 4th and on the 30th I was adi in city. I din sleep at all the night before. Not that I was excited or anything but we(me, Tai Jia, and his hsemate Shao Dong) were talking to much crap and busy causing havoc on GTA San Andreas that there wasnt enough time to sleep..lol...right to the very end I was still blowing up cars on that computer game. So we met up with Wai Kit and headed to Melb Central around 5.20am and reached Southern Cross in time before the bus took of to Avalon. Flight was at 8am and when we arrived in Brisbane, I adi had the feeling I'm gonna be spending alot of cash here...zzz..We took a 10 person cab to University of Queensland St Lucia campus which cost each of us around 6 bucks(started la the money spending)..Thats the 10 people cab..lol and UQ behind..
After checking in, we got our stuff which included a Victoria scarf. a Victoria headband, a Victoria t-shirt(I noe, talk about semangat man..-__-"), the keys to the room and other goodies. It was a shock when I entered my room, it was freaking filled with posters of girls using their barehands to cover their boobs!! and bikinis..talk about pervs who stayed in the room man..but anyway, I decided to swap rooms with another fren(which I think his gf wasnt to happy about it >.<). We went to look for lunch..Luckily nearby there was a row of restaurants called Hawken Drive..we ate Jap...After that I went back to my room to sleep as I din want to be sleepy for the next day, my game was on the nxt day. Then there was the briefing to delegates followed by the welcoming barbeque dinner..Somehow the administration was a bit screwed up. The transport was in a mess, they kept changing the times, the toilets had NO hot water!! We are smacked right in the middle of winter and they expect us to bathe with cold water? Gila ka??? We didnt stay long after the bbq, felt it wasnt important and we rather spend our time on bridge and poker..lol.. We slept about 12 that night....
.
Day 2 : The big day...competition day..My alarm was set at 6am but guess wat..at 5.45am, my team captain Tasha called me..Tasha: WAKEY WAKEY!!!...zzz..got ready and went to eat, then headed to the track where I witness team Queensland sweeping so many athletics categories..The bus left at 8 and went to the Brisbane Girls Grammar School where the basketball and badminton were held. Mens singles was up 1st.
Game on....
Match 1: Victoria vs Queensland..

Won straight sets...cant remember the score though...
.
Match 2 : Victoria vs Australian Central Territory
.
I dont exactly have a picture of the game but I do have a video..I was winning 6-1 in the 1st game before the poor guy tripped and fell spraining his ankle...He had to concede a walkover...

Match 3 : Victoria vs New South Wales
This joker ask me to play a friendly match in a competition..haha..Although I relaxed more I found myself making a lot of mistakes in the 2nd game. Won straight sets too..

Haha...by now u think wat man...so many camwhore pictures...not I take wan la..but I like it..hehe..
.
.
Match 4: Victoria vs Western Australia
This guy had also won his 3 games before facing me. So it was actually down to this game to decide who wins the competition..he was good man...I lost the 1st game, and I started to tense up, mistakes happened alot and I started to feel the effects of fatigue. Then Sinyu came and gave me pointers..His advice was really very good and I quickly overturned the game around in game 2. I lost 16-21 followed by winning 21-8(I think). It was down to the rubber set. The WA dude was quite tired and I was lucky bcos ACT guy managed to play him down 3 sets but conceded a walkover to me so technically I played 1 less game. Then he started to get muscle pulls and it was a pity he wasnt in top fitness, otherwise it would have been a great final match. I won the rubber 21-5, thus winning MASCA badminton.

This was my final shot..love it...hehe..nice....Wai Kit is in the background leaning against the wall..
(I was up in the air and he wasnt looking at me??? -_____-"..lol)
.
Sinyu and Nick won the mens doubles easily, there wasnt really any competition considering both of them can trash me easily..Tasha and Nick oso won the mixed doubles while the womens doubles managed a bronze...
By the time badminton was over it was adi dark.. I rushed back as I was going to meet Rachel for dinner(Rachel Mok, not Rachel Chua..haha...why would my sister be in Brisbane >.<)... . Met her at Hawken before going to the city and we ate at Pancake Manor which actually really is Pancake Parlour in Melbourne..oh well, not that I eat Pancake Parlour alot anyway..I ate some Mexican crepe but unfortunately due to the lack of cameras I didnt manage to take any pictures of the food :( We had insane conversations from sheeps and shepherds, dreams, relationships all the way till movies and korean dramas..so now another souls knows the romantic comedy addict side of me..WAT??? its normal ok....I think..reached back before midnight and considering the long day I had..it was back to zzzz..oh btw, bcos of the lack of hot water, I actually bathe at the place I played badminton, but then after the hassle only they told me there was hot water at UQ now..damn it...too much!!!.. . .
.
Day 3: Another long day...this time, I'm going Gold coast to go Movie World!!! Its about an hour away and had to take buses and trains to get there...not to mention the silent killer of its cost...
In the train there with Nick and Sinyu

Dunno wat the heck is Tai Jia doing...this self proclaim cute guy is only 5 ft 3 :P :P

Nick, Sinyu, Wai Kit, Shao Dong and me..This is upon arrival at MW.
And get wat was the 1st attraction we saw..none other than the Superman Escape...

chun rite!!!..haha...this ride goes from 0-100 in 2 secs..got 4.2 geforce and -1 geforce. look at that fall!! I went on Lethal Weapon 3 times which was also very exhilirating but this was better...and one 4D show on Shrek. The queue was long as expected and we only managed to ride it once.

Of course there was those other costumed people parading around, I mean that's MW, its meant to be like that..
.
.
We rushed like mad people back to UQ as the last bus to the Masquerade Ball was 5.30. We actually were planning to take a cab as we were really late but thank God we are all Malaysians..and wat happens when we are Malaysians??? Yes..we are never on time..By the time we were ready to go the 1st bus which was suppose to leave at 5.15 hasnt even left, and it was 6.25!!.
When we finally arrived at the Greek Club. Like all masquerade balls no entry unmasked so I bought a Batman mask from MV and completely sliced of the top with a scissors juz for the sake of entering the ball. I never put it on again after that...lol..the ball started 2 hours after scheduled man...talk about late...

Us in our masks...guess who is who..lol...I bet u can guess who is the shortest...hehehe..I'm so evil..I had my moment of fame when I was called on stage to be presented the medal for winning in badminton...the cheers from team Victoria was so cool...

The badminton gang at the ball. From left standing: Sinyu, Cadance. Nick, Tasha and me
Supporters squatting down: Shao Dong, Tai Jia and Wai Kit..
Look we all had medals...hehe...
After the ball we headed back and had a shower before our long session of heart attack(the card game..not really heart attack!!) It was so fun we laughed the whole time
.
.
Day 4 : Its the final day..due to the lack of sleep, I skipped breakfast in favour of sleeping overtime but had to check out by 9am. We headed to the city and I had my last glimpse of a pretty girl I saw at the conference before leaving. I din have the guts to walk up and talk to her though...haha..thought it was a useless thing to do...wakakaka..pretty girls to see only, don have to know wan...hahah...When we reached the city we wonderred around aimlessly.

Clockwise : Wai Kit, Shao Dong, Me, Sinyu, Rafiq(Tasha's bf), Tasha and Nick

This pic damn funny..suppose to be my hand creating a ball of fire while Tai Jia tries to block the tong that is keeping the fire burning..somehow it fails miserably...Then we tried to enter the casino to have a look...sadly, they only accept passport or Australian drivers license..so a few of us could not enter...these 2 trying to make it look as if the lost all their money..haha....
I met up with Rachel again after that for lunch..she brought me to some chinese restaurant that gets a CCM discount..tasted good and cheap as well...then we had gelato at gelatissimo..the belgian chocolate was good, girls call it sinful, I dont care....lol, juz eat...
.
We took the opportunity to ride the ferry back to campus..I must say, that is the most stable boat ride I've ever been on, its almost like walking on a non-moving vehicle...it doesnt get rocked at all!!!

Engineers please tell me how this design makes it so stable???
In the ferry, from left: Rafiq, me, Wai Kit, Rachel(who obviously isn't looking at the camera..lol), Tai Jia, Shao Dong(is he hiding??his face has been covered 80% wat the heck..) some unknown girl, and Tasha..

Upon arrival at UQ stop...

Since we had so much time, Rachel walked us to this park where it looks so much better than our south lawn in Melbourne Uni..*grin* the grass is so flat it can even be a soccer field...

And then started with our jumps...Wai Kit actually jumped higher than me!!!

And bid farewell to Rachel..hehe..thanks for ur company Rachel..will be glad to bring u around Melbourne :)
.
.
Wah..this post certainly took a long time...but thats all my trip to Brisbane, cos we headed to the airport and back to Melbourne after this.
.
.
Brisbane certainly has its better side..especially its weather..I get to wear t-shirt in the afternoon!!! on a winter season!!!..lol
.
.
till then..hungry adi..ciaoz

Wedding bells..

Ok, so Ruth and Phil (people I noe from church) juz had their wedding today..well I think it was a beautiful location cos there was a view of a man lade lake, quiet little place out of the city but a little too far..lol..
There was a total of 240 guests there. Pastors from Hope churches all over Australia came to witness such an event. They actually flew all the way here...well it does help if the groom was originally from Brisbane. :)

Anyway, of course we didn't have lots of time to talk to the bride and groom so we just interacted among ourselves. Since it is a wedding, there was a lot of discussion about weddings and to my surprise I actually learnt something new today.

Question 1: Do u feel like getting married after witnessing a wedding?
Males: No...doesn't make a difference
Females: Yea...it is so nice >.<"
.
Ok btw pls note that the opinions by males and females are just an assumed average based on the people I 'interviewed'. They may not represent the whole gender of the world but it was quite a significant majority of the sample gender present at the wedding(too much quantitative methods).
.
.
Question 2: How long should the courtship be before getting married?
Males: 2-3 yrs
Females: 1-1.5 yrs
.
Question 3: What is your ideal age of getting married?
Males: 27-28
Females: 23-25!!!
.
.
wat the....23-25? so early? Ida argued that it is better to give birth before the age of 30 so that your child will be smart, I say that is all bullshit!! But then again, my mum gave birth to me when she was 33 and look where it got me in terms of stupidity.. sigh...
.
ok so conclusion for the guys (since I'm a guy, I'm helping my gender). Date a girl 5 years younger than u. When u are 28, they are 23, perfect!! Get to know a girl 1.5 yrs before starting to date them, in which during this time treat her as your gf BUT making it non-official. Then officially date her for 1.5 yrs. This would suit ur criteria for 3 yrs and theirs for 1.5 yrs, perfect!! Last, make sure u bring them to a wedding before proposing. Even though it doesn't affect us, the women will be so heavily influenced, ur proposal is fool proof!! Perfect, I'm a genius!!!...
.
.
At one point waiting for the appearance of the bride, my sis noticed Phil being a little to anxious...
Sis: eh u see Phil, so anxious, nxt time u also will be like that, waiting for bride to appear.
Me: hmm..I dont think so, u see he's talking to the best man, we don't have to be anxious, just like talk to ur frens maybe ask them "eh, later tonight lets go out have a drink man"
Sis: What? are u crazy, its the wedding night la, they suppose to....(she couldn't finish the sentence)
Me thinking to myself, WAHAHAHAHAHAHH!!!!!!!
.
.
Women......are complicated -___________________________________-"

Oh, congrats Ruth and Phil, God bless...

Switchfoot and Jay concert..

Yea, some of u all might have known that I blew RM125 on Switchfoot and RM168 on Jay Chou's concert..hehe...

This was when Switchfoot came on...style nyer...
I would say it was rather worth it, cos we can actually see the noses of the band members..pls note that the pictures were taken from my handphone, so they look further than they actually are..
Another song...
He actually got the security personel to carry him in front of his fans...thats why he looks so close..
Closing of the concert with Dare You To Move...This was the crowd favourite and it was well performed...
.
.
Then comes Jay's concert...
This was barely a tenth of the crowd...u can imagine the 20,000 people at the stadium..
Here he comes out for his 1st song...with a peacock hairstyle..hahaha
A short video shown from movie Secret before he sang Bu Neng Shuo De Mimi...nice clip, made me wanna watch that movie again..haha
Must be on of those fireworks display when ending a song la....
This part he appeared from the stage with a crystal piano specially flown from Taiwan..playing Hei Se You Mo...If I remember correctly, this was An Jing..notice the light stick....it was held by a fan...........................A GUY!!!...wat the heck, I mean dah lah, the girls are adi screaming off his songs, drowning his voice, most of the guys there were oso screaming their lungs away....Most of the guys there were like girls!! They sang, waved their sticks...screaming away, come on man we are guys, we are not licensed to act like dat when we see our idol...when girls do it...its ok...haha...dats why, learn from me, stone there standing only ( no matter how much u wanted to scream :P LOL)...
Then there was the surprise of Nan Quan Mama appearing to sing as well..This part was worth screaming for, the piano battle between Jay and Yu Hao..It was exactly like it was in Secret...damn nice...
.
.
Ok, I think that concludes my long post today, there's more, but I think I'll only update that when I'm in the mood...hehe..
.
Not hungry la, juz ate..ciaoz....

RM168

I'll be returning to Australia soon..its monday and my final day of work is on Friday..leaving for Aus on Sunday..there's lots to update, lots of photos to post, lots of crap and events to attend to, but sidetrack from that, lets juz talk about last Saturday.
.
.
I went to Malacca on Friday night after work, bcos there was a purchasers meeting the following day, nothing much about the meeting, but after having some chicken rice ball I reached my hse at about 5.30 pm, got changed and quickly left the hse and headed to Stadium Merdeka..
.
.
At 6.15 pm, I entered the stadium, and was adi standing in the only rock area of the whole stadium(not that I wanted to, but there were no tickets left!!) Yes, by now u shud know that I had to stand for about 5 hrs till 11pm...
.
.
By 7 I was adi feeling the stench of sweat and BO, but I juz beared with it..8 pm arrived and now the stadium was 9/10 full...ppl were adi screaming even though he has not appeared..
.
.
Sharp 8.15 pm, fog rised on the stage, the whole stadium blew into a freaking frenzy with ppl shouting thier lungs out. and he made his grand appearance in a peacock-suit(looked like one to me). I din noe the 1st song, which made me wonder, am I that big of a fan until his entrance song I din noe?
.
Worthy to be called a fan, I knew the name of almost every song he sang after that..He serenaded the fans with many of his hits. Ting Mama De Hua, Hei Se You Mo, Bu Neng Shuo De Mimi, Qian Li Zhi Wai all were well performed...
.
Sounds good rite? Now the bad parts....HE FREAKIN DIN SING 2 OF MY FAV SONGS!!! WHY!!!! WHY!!!! WHY!!!!...He sang 7 out of 10 songs from his new album, BUT HE DIN SING WO BU PEI OR EVEN PU GONG YU DE YUE DING..The best 2 songs from his new album was left out..damn!!! And he din even sing Qing Tian or Feng..haihz..nxt, STADIUM MERDEKA SUX!!!
It was too big a crowd, that the speakers were only in front, and by the time the sound reached the back, it wasn't as rock as it was suppose to be..haihz..
However, it wasn't as lousy at the worst possible scenario..There was a surprise by Nan Quan Mama..they were also good...and he showed of how versatile he was by playing 4 instruments..guitar, drums, old chinese piano, and the piano. On top of that, he performed the Piano battle with Yu Hao exactly like it was in th movie..That was probably the most impressing of the evening. And of course he din miss out on An Jing with the piano which is one of his best classics..
.
Overall, not a good way to start at a Jay Chou concert, but if there's a chance to see another concert with hopefully better sound system and picking my favourite songs, I'd jump at the chance..hehe..Jay rawks...oh btw, I blew RM168..and according to the star, there was a 20,000 crowd..he must be loaded la...
.
.

Holiday mood turned on...

Ok yes I know, I havent been blogging...but I just didnt have the time...Not much has happened over the past 2 weeks anyway.
.
.
My holidays juz started!!! Which means its time to study -__-" There's so much going on this month.
22nd September: Got 3 ppl having their birthdays. Aaron and Samantha from OCF and my old time pang yao Daryl. Significantly, Weng Tze's flying off to UK on this day...How I miss these ppl...haih....and it will be sometime before I see Weng again as our holidays dont match...Anyway, wish her a safe trip there and have a wonderful time at England.
23rd September: Pei Xian's birthday. If all goes well, my plan should suceed, unless suddenly this girl decides to back out last minute. In any case if she does back out, I'll kill her!!!!
.
Hope Church had their anniversary celebration yesterday. 17 yrs and much more to come. They help it at Deakin Uni.

All the pastor-pastor and wife-wife. Except the guy far right, he's a pastor from Adelaide and his wife wasn't there.

Ok time to cut cake and lets makan it!!!!
.
.
Anyway, let me introduce u the cutest boy I've seen in Melbourne. How he brightens my day when he runs around. Abit naughty but I juz cant help watching his cuteness. Once he threw a tissue on the ground, and I told him, throw rubbish in the rubbish bin!! He took up the tissue, came up to me, and dropped it at my feet!!!! Everybody around was laughing so loud, I juz gave in and threw it away myself. Yesterday, he kept on coming to take our football when we were passing it around. Everytime he grabbed hold of the ball he would take it to the high grass and throw it in there. Lol...sooooo naughty.

Meet Samuel Lam. I juz love his cheeks. Make me wanna pinch it so hard...haha, now I understand why those aunties like to do dat. If u look closely, his hingus is coming out!!! hahahaha...

Samuel's expression: HOI, WATCHA LOOKING AT HUH???? Simply adorable.
.
.
Last update, I'm getting baptised!!! hehe, on the 27th of September. Funny how I didn't have mood to eat my dinner at all last night, and after I got my dad's 'no objection' my appetite came in out of nowhere....Fasting and prayer works....^^
.
.
Not hungry now...ciaoz...

Merdeka Night Dinner

Yea, so I told mentioned about the dinner, I kinda think I ate too little for the money I paid for it.
.
Anyway, its still worth the trip because of the performances..So this was wat happened..
.
.
I left rather late actually, cant remember wat I was doing taking me so long..NO, it was not my hair ok...but I left my hse around 6.50 when the dinner starts at 7.30. Now here's the thing, I had a chat with the incoming president of Malaysians of Melbourne University(MoMU) the day b4.
.
Jon: hey, wats the dress code for the event?
Su Ann(incoming pres): its smart casual
Jon: (thinks in head yea dats right i SO noe wat is smart casual, sure sure, I understand) ok so smart casual means wear wat?
Su Ann: Errr wear a shirt, and DONT wear jeans...
Jon: (thinks again, isnt dat a little too formal) HA? ok la, u sure ar
Su Ann: yaya...
.
When I left my hse, again I thought that it was too formal, but since Jun Wey was wearing something similar, I thought ok la, at least got one other fella liddat. I wore a blue shirt, almost silk-like material, super thin!!! Aiya, winter almost over la, no problem wan. The moment I walked out of my hse I knew I'm gonna freeze to death on the way home, and guess wats the best part, its the coldest night for the pass 2 weeks!! But, I cant find a jacket to fit a shirt, if I wore a suit, then it would be even more formal. So i beared with it, and damn it was freezing!!!
.
.
I dunno wat kinda train I took but it reached the city in 10 mins!! Lol, talk about express it virtually skipped so many stations, I reached by the 2nd stop...hahaha...Took a tram to Arrow and met Pei Xian there. The time of truth, how many were gonna wear like me. Nxt, time remind me to trust my gut feeling. Less than 10 ppl actually wor slacks, the rest were shirt and the NOT-ALLOWED JEANS!! bugger...
.
.
Overall the night was satisfying, I think the highlight of the night was Melissa's singing(dun kembang ar). There were many other performances too, some juz for humor. And of course, the food, Beef rendang, sambal ikan billis, roti canai, cendol, sambal egg, nasi goreng, mee goreng, curry!!! wah...I miss it so much...
.
.
After the night, we went to QV to have a budget yum cha session. Safeway choc milk and orange juice+2 king size crunchie and a mars bar. Total of it all was cheaper then a waffle at Max Brenners...hahaha...
.
.
Pictures!!

Pei Xian, Melissa, Me

Same bunch but with the extra behind, long and messy haired Jun Wey(commone, pls cut ur hair la!!!!)

Same bunch now with Edison(Mel's fren) I respect this guy man, talk about smooth talk? U shud meet him, he makes frens at an average of 1 per min. He entered the dinner only knowing 2 ppl, he left the building knowing half of them. We went into safeway to buy drinks, we came out and saw him talking to some guy he juz met. We went up the escalator, he talked to 2 girls he juz met. ..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...(he shud do evax :P)

Yea, Wei Xuan was there too... :P

With my noobs skills I dunno wats wrong cos I cant post any videos...damn
Nvm, I'll keep trying..

Festival of Nations..

Ok, I noe today is Merdeka, but then aiyo for the past 19 years I have never found it such a big thing, even when I had to sing tanggal 31 for 11 years of my life. However there will be a dinner tonight in Melbourne Uni and I shall be going to eat Malaysian buffet!!! Muahahha all the Malaysian food that I've missed so much. Melissa will be performing Bukan Cinta Biasa and if I'm lucky enough, I will get to record it and if Sim's lucky enough, he shall get to see it :P

Ok enough about the dinner, few days back there was this festival of nations thing being held in the university. It was blady crowded man as I muscled my way through just to get to Uncle Ong's nasi lemak stall and MOMU's kuih+teh tarik stall. The kuih was rather expensive but it taste great. Maybe I juz havent been eating kuih for such a long time that I felt it was so good.

Its quite interesting to see so many different stalls and it comes to show how many foreign students there are in Melb Uni. It seems like there is hardly any pure Australians. The stall next to Uncle Ong was selling Ramly Burger!!! LOL, by the looks of it they look like they came from Singapore, because the promoter didnt sound Indo at all.

I didnt take much pictures though. This was Uncle Ong's poster. Nasi Lemak, spring rolls, longan drink, wanton, konyaku jelly, hey wait a minute, lets take a closer view....

It says KONYAKUKU JELLY not NEGARAKUKU!!!! LOL....negaraku, negarakuku.....wahahaha.

The crowd behind me, waiting anxiously for their nasi lemak. No, I was not taking pictures of girls, I didnt even look where my camera was aiming, I juz held it up high and snapped a picture, and this was wat I got..You know why so many people waiting for nasi lemak...wait I tell u later...

See the spring rolls and wantons? See the fried chicken and cucmber and longan drink, and hard boiled eggs? See the konyakuKU jelly? Hey wait, where's the nasi lemak?? Relax, I tell u later..

The other shops, the one right in front is the French one, selling crepe's I think..As u can see it was packed...super packed.

Ok now for the nasi lemak. Uncle Ong was a natural talent at doing business. He used all the laws and tactics to attract customers. Bargaining power, he sold food that was getting cheaper and cheaper, and if u buy in huge amount he gives u BIG discount, or so he says..But he couldn't control his kitchen staff. His nasi lemak rice ran out and when people started to order he said 10 min his people are making the rice now!! So I said ok fine, I'll wait since I dont have anymore classes, 20 min later, I saw a girl putting coconut milk into the rice cooker which had water in it!!!! They havent even started cooking!!! Wtheck u Uncle Ong, cheat my feeling ar(Renald's well used line.. :P) So I demanded an answer from Uncle Ong, and he apologised. After a while he said 400 seconds more..ok fine, few minutes, 600 seconds later, they press the on button to start cooking the rice...swt..cheat my feeling 2nd time... He then lost a lot of business opportunities as many people left and Uncle Ong didn't want them to wait for so long so he told people to come again the next day. Forget it, I've waited that long, I'm getting my nasi lemak!!!

After 40 mins I finally got my nasi lemak, with 2 chicken for juz 5 bux, the poster said 6.50 with one chicken..hahaha, I was the "loyal" customer.

Now lets analyse the pros and cons of me waiting for 40 mins for my nasi lemak..

Cons:
1) Waited damn long, freaking hungry, could have got gastric man(ok I'm exaggerating, I noe)
2) Stand like an orang gila there,
3) Being pushed and squashed by the number of people there
4) Opportunity cost of 40 mins
5) Hearing samba songs which really irritated me

Pros:
1) The malaysian girl who was in charge of cooking the rice was damn pretty!!! (I wanted to take a picture of her but no chance la...wasted)

Yeap, I think it was worth waiting the 40 mins (and now u noe why I didn't mind standing in front of the shop for such a long time rite) :P

Talk about nasi lemak, I'm hungry now...ciaoz
